Frankfurt Christmas Market 2007

12.02.00am GMT Tue 20th Nov 2007

The Frankfurt Market in Victoria Square & Upper New Street arrived on Thursday last week (15th November). It will now be open daily from 10am to 9pm until (Sunday 23rd Dec).

The Frankfurt Market in the past years has had many stalls selling all sorts of stuff like toys, candles, glasswork, decorations, textiles and lacework along with food and drink. Over the last few years I have made special trips to the market to buy roasted chestnuts and fresh fruit covered in chocolate.

This year the bandstand in Victoria Square will host lunchtime and evening concerts and there will be a fairground carousel to keep children entertained.

Saturday 1st & 22nd December will be Family Days when there will special activities for children including face painting, balloon art and a treasure hunt and on Sunday 15th December a concert and carol service will held in Victoria Square starting at 4.30pm to celebrate christmas.
