I joined facebook back in December 2006 which is much later a lot of people I know and when I first joined I was not too sure about the whole thing.

I always enjoyed keeping in touch with friends over internet using email or MSN but I was not too sure I would stick with a networking website long enough for it to be worth it I always thought I would loose interest too soon for it to be of any meaningful use.

Earlier this week I added my 100th friend on facebook some of these are people who I had lost contact with before I joined facebook. I have used facebook to share photos from my holiday in Malawi earlier this year with friends. I have joined over sixty groups showing a commitment, interest or support for causes, issues or subjects. Facebook also has an events section which allows people to promote events to friends and see who has been invited and who is attending, maybe attending and those who are not attending. Facebook also allows users to share links and write notes, the notes can be imported from external blogs my facebook is suppose to import news from this website. facebook can also let you know your friends birthdays I really this especially since they inform you a couple of days before the birthday when the actual birthday is this way I get another reminder that I have to buy a card for someone or on the day of the birthday I use The Wall feature on peoples profiles to post a happy birthday message.

Other facilities that facebook has some of which I have used are a political quiz, compare people, emote, food fight, gifts (I received a birthday gift from a friend this year), likeness, marketplace, movies, my questions, the countries visited map (tells me I have visited 5% of the countries in the world), vampires, visual bookshelf, x me and zombies.

The services offered on facebook has massively increased since I joined in December 2006 therefore the profile pages are now in my opinion too crowded, filled and packed however facebook is still a great way to keep in touch with friends, share common interests and generally have fun. I would certainly recommend it to friends.
