We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to ensure that, following the recent request for a further £1m a year for maintenance of Buckingham palace, the royal finances are opened up to greater public and parliamentary scrutiny, and that parliament is asked to set a fixed budget for the monarchy each year.9.02.00am BST (GMT +0100) Tue 10th Jul 2007 Sometime ago I signed a petition on 10 Downing Street E-Petitions website calling on the PM to ensure that the royal finances are opened up to greater public and parliamentary scrutiny, and that parliament is asked to set a fixed budget for the monarchy each year. The deadline to sign this petition is 5th July 2008 so if you would like to see the royal finances are opened up to greater public and parliamentary scrutiny, and that parliament is asked to set a fixed budget for the monarchy each year please visit http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/monarchycost/ and sign up. I would also ask that you contact family and friends and encourage them to do the same.
