Prisoners held in Guantanamo Bay

Nearly 400 men are trapped in the prison at Guantanamo without charge or trial

I thought readers may be interested to hear about a campaign to close the prison at Guantanamo Bay, where President Bush is holding nearly 400 detainees without criminal charges or trials.

Even some of President Bush top advisors have called for the closing of the prison at Guantanamo Bay. This split inside the Administration gives us a real chance close Guantanamo forever.

A new group called Avaaz is putting together a global petition to close Guantanamo. Avaaz will run the petition in key US newspapers as soon as they have signatures from every country.
