Political Compass

November 19, 2007 12:02 AM

As I recently added the Political Compass feature to my profile on Facebook I was asked to take the test again. This was the fifth time I had taken the test since March 2004 when I was introduced to it.

I was no surprise to me that my results this time were different from when I had last taken the test in July 2006. On this occasion I came out Economic Left/Right: -1.75 & Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.95. In July 2006 my results were Economic Left/Right: -2.50 & Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.13

My results in the past have been March 2004 (Economic Left/Right: -1.88 & Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.38), July 2004 (Economic Left/Right: -1.88 & Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.03), July 2005 (Economic Left/Right: -2.13 & Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.00) and July 2006 (Economic Left/Right: -2.50 & Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.13).

I'm not sure why my results come out different all the time, I don't think my opinions have changed much on the questions they ask since March 2004 but I guess the major difference is that on some occasions I would have Strongly Disagree/Strongly Agree and on other occasions I have answered Disagree/Agree depending on my frame of mind when taking the test.

While on the Political Compass website I also took sometime to look at the features they have on EU Governments, UK Political Parties and Candidates in the US Primaries.
