David Maclean's Freedom of Information (Amendment) Bill the Private Members Bill which would exempt MPs from the Freedom of Information Act on the grounds that constituents should have their privacy protected (correspondence between MPs and their constituents is already protected by the Data Protection Act) is due for a comeback again this Friday (18th May 2007) which means that, once again, opponents of the Bill will have to try talking it out or voting it down.
I would encourage all readers to keep up the pressure on their MPs by asking them to help defeat the Bill on Friday. I will be resending the letter I sent Khalid Mahmood MP [http://www.adamteladia.org.uk/news/000034.html] in April to my local MP.
